PPL - Private Pilot License (VFR Rules)

It's the first license anyone need to get to become a pilot. It allows to pilot any small plane (Cessna 152/172) with maximum 4 passengers and with some restrictions:

• weather : it should be fair weather with maximum coverage of 1/8 of clouds
• time of the flight : you can fly only during daytime, with daytime defined from 30 minutes before dawn till 30 minutes after sunset
• No International flights, no long distance flights over the sea
• Only propeller single engine planes
• You cannot earn money from piloting the plane

Our PPL Program starts here in Hong Kong and ends in the Philippines (due to the fact that in HK is practically impossible to take any license due to traffic restriction and limitations) or in US, near Washington DC Our school in the Philippines and US are proper Pilot School (not a flying club) and are the same schools where many airline pilots are trained.

The programs is divided as follows :

Philippine Program
• 10 lessons in Hong Kong, each one of 2h30m for a total of 15 hours of flight in our simulators and 8 hours of ground school
• 40 hours of flight and 90 hours of ground school in the Philippines

Washington International Flight Academy Program

10 lessons in Hong Kong, each one of 5hrs for a total of 10 hours of flight in our simulators and 40 hours of ground school

For the duration of the PPL course you can consider some averages. The courses are ONE-2-ONE that means that you can schedule the lessons here in HK and in the Philippines/US as you prefer and depending on your availability :

• Hong Kong part : from 3 to 8 weeks, depends how much time you have. An average of 5 weeks with 2 lessons per week is our normal practice. If you want to speed up we can do the HK part in as few as 10 days, but it's very fast and requires full dedication to the course.
• Philippines : Very much dependent on the weather and on you. You can consider anything between 3 to 8 weeks also here. With average weather and average students our current practice is around 4 weeks. These weeks in the Philippines can be separated in more than one go, it means that you can go there for 2 weeks then come back, then go there for another week, etc.. it all very much depends on your schedule
• United States: Also here very much dependent on the weather and on you. You can consider around 4 to 5 weeks as a good estimate.

In total therefore you can consider that you can get your PPL in as few as 5/6 Weeks in the best case and with full time dedication and an average of 8-10 weeks for our normal students.

The total cost for PPL is :

Philippine : 81,000 HKD (Plus accomodation and travel to the Philippines that can be very cheap).

United States 96,000 HKD (Plus 5500 HKD for the accomodation at the academy plus travel and meals)
